  • Chalking:

What would you need?

You can buy the hair chalk but nothing works as nicely as the chalk pastels. Use those colors that the artists use but make sure that they are not oil based. These chalks are cheap and the results are wonderful than the hair chalks.

How to do it:

  1. People with dark hair should divide the hair in sections. Spray them with water until they are properly damp.
  2. People with blonde hair need not wet the hair.
  3. Gently rub the chalk up and down your tresses. If needed, you can twist the sections of your hair. Coat both the sides of your hair so it gets colored nicely.
  4. Allow the colored hair to dry. In case you are in a hurry, you can blow dry them.
  5. Use a hair straightner for sealing the strands. This way the color is less likely to run on your clothing.
  • Kool Aid:

How long it lasts: 2 weeks to 6 months.

What would you need?

Depending on the length of your hair you will need around 1 to 6 packets of kool aid colors. This color will last for two weeks to six months depending on the texture of your hair.

How to do it:

  1. Make sure you buy only the unsweetened kool aid colors to get the right effects.
  2. Gently mix the powder with water in a sauce pan and bring it to boil.
  3. The consistency should be similar to that of a drinkable liquid and not a paste. But, lesser the water you add, the better and more vibrant its color will be.
  4. Allow the liquid to cool, dip your hair in it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Remove your hair from the pot. Dab it dry with your old towel. You can use paper towels too. For the next 24 hours, do not wash your hair.
  • Eye Shadow:

What would you need?

All you would need is one or more eye shadows depending on how you want to color your hair. This type of coloring leaves the hair more vibrant than the chalking method.

How to do it:

  1. Divide your hair into sections. Damp the hair with water by using a spray. Rub a dot of conditioner into these sections.
  2. Use the desired colored eye shadow and slowly work from the top towards bottom.
  3. Make sure you hold it firmly against your thumb. Slide the tub of your eye shadow slowly down your air. Use it as many times as you want.
  4. Coat your hair not just in the front but in the back.
  5. Spray a hairspray gently to seal the color. Allow it to dry naturally or you can blow dry them.
  • Color Rub:

What would you need?

This technique is similar to the eye shadow technique one. The only different component here is the product that is specifically designed for the hair instead of an eye shadow. This color will not transfer on your clothes and are more vibrant than any other coloring methods. You will need a color rub that is available in the regular beauty stores.

How to do it:

  1. Gently spray water on your hair to dampen it. Work on one section at a time and do not wet them all.
  2. Rub your hair conditioners into the sections.
  3. Use the color rub from the top and gently work your way down towards the end.
  4. Slide the tub gently and do not apply force unnecessarily. Coat your hair from the back as well. Work on the sections until you are impressed with the color.
  5. Seal the color on your hair with the hairspray and allow it to dry. If you do not have the time, you can blow dry them.
  • Colored Mascara:

What would you need?

Cosmetic stores are full of colored mascara. You might find limited colors in them but you will get amazing color for your hair until you wash it. This is the best choice in non permanent color for your hair. All you need is few mascara bottles depending on the length of your hair. You can experiment with the glittering mascara as well.

How to do it:

  1. Do not wet your hair to get it colored with the mascara.
  2. Make sure your hair is neat, clean and dry when you are coloring it with the mascara.
  3. Divide your hair in sections to get them colored evenly.
  4. Use the mascara brush to color your hair. Gently add streaks to those sections that you want to highlight.
  5. Allow it to dry before you touch or change clothes to avoid staining.
